What is the point of the free tokens?

I just don't know why they are still part of the game? I think they should be gotten rid of - this would even the playing field between players who have the time to get them and those who dont. It would also remove the tedious aspect from the game.

If they served a purpose i'd argue that they should stay. But, as it is, i dont feel they promote very much so fail to see the point in still having them.

What do the rest of you think? :|

I semi-agree. Then see I need to put junkies in training or whatever and claim the tokens. Generally I don't claim the tokens though so I think we should get rid of them too to make an even playing field. If we ever get paying ads to click on then fair enough, put the back.

i'd have to agree that it seems kind of tedious. i wouldn't say it's an unfair edge, it just seems like a pain. most people pry get them once a day. I doubt too many people are actually getting one every 20 hours or even often enough to get more than 30 or 31 sets of 50 per round.

Keep the freebies! Also - I saw another sight... can't remember who gave me the link, but you played the same type of online game as a strip club owner or something. To get their freebies, you went to a site and voted that game as 'the best online game' and you earned freebies that way. It was a way to promote the site, and I could totally see something like that added (for additional freebies, mind you - I'm not about to give up teasing the hungry... making them e-beg me to click one more button!)

The purpose of the free tokens (when it started) was to give you a reason to click on ads to generate revenue for the site. However, that reason has disappeared a long time ago, so now it's basically to help out by feeding the children and getting something as an incentive to do it. Well, provided you're not like Steff and only load up the first page.

You must be new. There was a time when the ads helped pay for the game, but, noone wanted to sponser a game about selling drugs and pimpin' hoes, so the sponsers pulled out. Now, the game is paid for by donations. Oh, and before I forget, STFU NOOB!!! ;)

well theres a couple good reasons for them and im sure they've all bin covered

1. click the feed the hungry button (does this actually send them 1.1 cups of food?)
2. if you are completely broke but need a few tokens you simply get your free tokens and recruit a junkie
3. 5 tokens seems like a small amount but they definitely add up if you collect them every day

open your freebies in another window before you start spending your tokens, that way you earn your tokens while your playing, no wasted time.

a few of you might be familiar with the test area of the old premie. there is an option to claim freebies automatically every 20 hours.

you might be wondering what the test area is and how you could possibly access it. it has never been supposed to be public, but i'm tired of this fuss. the test area provides a few extra features and is only available on the old premium account. to access it, you need to log into the old school premium account, leave the browser window open and type the following code. there is no formular to fill it in, you just need to type it in once the page is loaded - copy & paste will not work. afterwards, a little pi will appear (see screenshot 1) which opens the door to the test section (see screenshot 2).

you can add as many accounts as you want. the column that says "update" indicates the last time your freebies have been claimed. as rit has been too lazy to make things pretty, you will just see an ugly unix timestamp.

to those who try to figure the address out by taking a look at the source code, forget it. i had that idea too. the script is directly loaded to the DOM of your browser and I haven't figured out how to access that yet. maybe, you are clever enough.
the character map might be helpful. click start -> run, fill in "charmap" and hit return.

The hunger and breast cancer links don't actually help pay for the game but I'm glad Rit encourages us to support these good causes. Clicking on the links REALLY DOES give money to feed hungry or whatever the cause is.
